like walking etc., in taking part. If
you are on essential medication or have other essential medical needs, for your
comfort, please ensure that the
volunteer coordinator is aware of this. If you have to cancel, please attempt to
find another member to take your place, informing the coordinator of course. If
costs are involved, and a replacement cannot be found, it may be necessary for

the archaeology there( perhaps more on that later
). We are going there to visit the standing stones and the
church but if time there are a number of other places of interest around the
village worth looking at. For those who have not been there it will be a

Extracts of the September 2006 Newsletter. Recruitment of Officers at
AGM The time of the A.G.M. is rapidly approaching once again. As usual we will mix pleasure with business by providing an interesting talk and refreshments. If you have anything that you would like discussed please let any member of the committee know. Probably the most important issue will be the need to replace the Programme Secretary. Having this post filled is imperative to our survival as a successful group. We have been stumbling on with our best efforts on the programme front, and we have had some really good meetings, but in order to get the best, early planning is very important. Please give some serious thought to finding a replacement and if you feel that you might be able to have a crack at this or any of the other posts, let’s see your name on that nomination form. Speak to the Chairman or Hon Sec.if you want to know more. Christmas Meal Details of the Christmas Meal were distributed at the October meeting. It will be held in the Village Hall (being decorated for the purpose)and the festive meal is being provided by Rumbling Tums of Ross (excellent reports). There will be some hilarity I expect; Glan Jones is organising a quiz, draw etc. Tickets at the AGM (November 2nd) Ghosts in the Miners Arms During the summer I was invited to go to to Pontypool to join two mediums who were on a ghost hunting evening, this turned out to be a fascinating time. If you are a ghost I am sure a nice warm pub is far pleasanter than say a drafty old church and this pub has lots of them. When the present owners moved in they found that the gents had been turned into a store room and a new one built as no one would use the old one because of the bad feeling in that room and the customers would then go to the pub up the road to use their gents and not come back, very bad for business!. They have now re-opened the gents for its correct use and there is a strong presence in the room sometimes as the entity wanders about the pub. Upstairs in the private quarters pens and pencils would be thrown about the room very violently. I am not sufficiently tuned in to see ghosts but I can feel them and the energy fields that I felt and dowsed were the strongest that I have ever encountered. Although I could not see anything, unlike the mediums I
dowsed where the entities were and a photographer with me took pictures where I
indicated to take them and after the session you could clearly see on the camera
screen(di.gital) lights and outlines of figures. The wife of the one medium,
who started the evening as a total sceptic, videoed moving balls of light that
we could not explain, and is now no longer a sceptic! I am hoping to get copies
of both the video and the photographs soon. Taking Photographs. I took my camera with me but set it all wrong.- didn’t get anything To get such pictures, switch off the flash, the rooms were fairly dark, set the camera down on a firm surface and when it has absorbed sufficient light it will switch itself off, it is a very long exposure. If you have any unexplainable pictures we would like to see them, and no it isn’t dust on the lens! David Exell ----------------------------------- |
