PETER
Very
sadly, as most of you will know, our President and founder Peter Watson died
recently. Although Peter has been
quite seriously ill for some time, his death was unexpected.
Our thoughts go to Margaret and her family. Peter
thought of us as his extended family and was very keen to see that all the
Group members achieved their goals as dowsers.
His interest in dowsing was very broad, enjoying every branch with a
lively and youthful interest. He
became a very well know and well respected figure in the dowsing world,
particularly as a speaker and active helper for those who called on his
experience. Of
course we will miss him, and he will probably be keeping an eye on our
proceedings. Maybe we’ll feel a gentle nudge now and again. A donation, is
being made in lieu of flowers -------------------------------------- PROGRAMME FOR 2005 The
programme is coming together and Richard will be confirming the programme
shortly. -------------------------------------- CHRISTMAS DINNER Forty of us got together on 9th of December
to sample the great cooking of the W.I. , and we were not
disappointed. We had a great meal, in the very good company of our Group
friends and their guests. We were very sorry to miss those of you who
couldn’t make it... next year maybe ? Thanks to eveyone who helped to make it a
very nice evening. Special
thanks, of course, to the ladies of Aston Ingham W.I.
-------------------------------------- REFRESHMENT DUTY Sue
Jones has passed on the duty of Refreshment Coordinator to
Georgina Ablett. We
thank Sue for the great job she has done over the last year (and for her
patience) We must make sure that Georgina has all the help she needs at the
monthly meetings. As
you old hands know, the refreshment coordinator (Georgina) organises the victuals ( tea, coffee, biscuits etc.) for
our monthly meetings and makes sure that the refreshment team swing into
action at the appropriate moment ! Of
course, the galley has to be spick and span again at the end of the evening. We all enjoy the social opportunity this “cuppa time” gives us to meet and talk. Mostly, we all like to help out with this arrangement when we can. The
subscriptions remain unchanged for 2005. £15
joint, £10 single and £5 associate (distant) member. . SUBSCRIPTIONS WERE DUE AT THE A.G.M. -------------------------------------- DON’T FORGET YOUR FRIENDS !
Our monthly meetings are a mixture of things. We hope above everything
that you all enjoy the social occasion. The
evening will have a focus of course, and we
get some very interesting and well known speakers to entertain and
enlighten us. Anyway, what I’m leading up to is....why not bring a friend or two to a
meeting now and again.....you know that they will be made very welcome.
Jack At
the A.G.M. we made a door collection for the charity Village Water. Thanks
to everyone who donated to the cause we raised £31 which has been sent to help
provide and maintain clean water supplies to villages in the poorer areas of the
third world. Village
Water is one of the charities backed by the British Society of Dowsers.
Thanks Again -------------------------------------- You lucky people!! -------------------------------------- The
Chairman, and
all the committee wish
you all a very Happy and Successful 2005
